Improved Video Streaming“Latency” (or, the total delay from when video is captured on a Verkada camera to when it is displayed in the Command browser) and “time-to-first-frame” (or, the time it takes for Command to begin video playback once the video stream is requested, like when using the history player) constitute two critical factors in our customers’ overall streaming experience. With our introducing two new streaming technologies into Command–WebCodecs and HTTP/2–our customers experience sub-second latency (870 ms, a 65% reduction) and 1.1 second time-to-first-frame (a 50% reduction) when streaming video footage in Command.
