Speakers:

• Landon Turner is a seasoned Hospitality Professional and Building Manager with over 19 years of experience managing high-rise Hotels and Condominiums. Having spent nearly a decade at industry giants like Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, he brings a wealth of expertise in general building operations and asset management. Mr. Turner's decision to join The Independent, locally known as the “Jenga Building,” was motivated by his outstanding track record in overseeing new construction, multi-million-dollar renovations, and grand openings. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management from the University of Texas Tech, along with certifications as a Six Sigma Greenbelt and a CMCA designation.

• Shad McGaha is the Chief Technology Officer at Belton ISD in Belton, Texas.  With over two decades of technology in education experience, his journey began as a desktop technician, evolving through network administration and into the Director of Technology role. Shad has served as CTO in two Texas school districts, including a rewarding tenure at Wichita Falls ISD. As an innovation enthusiast and cybersecurity advocate, he believes in the power of technology to enhance instruction while ensuring a safe digital environment.  Shad's focus extends beyond the tech, empowering educators, students, and parents to embrace innovation.

• Will DeWitt is the Director of Global Security at Verkada. Prior to joining Verkada, Will spent over a decade at Palantir, where he built multiple award-winning Industrial Security Programs. Will is a US Marine veteran and recipient of the Cogswell Award, the highest honor from the Defense Intelligence and Security Agency.

• Richard Rogers is the SVP for Demand at Verkada. Richard has built and led international teams in technology for over 25 years including go to market and management roles at AWS, Palo Alto Networks, SAP, Oracle, Veritas, Symantec, and KPMG. He has also advised and sat on the board for startups in B2B software, services and clean tech sectors.

• Sarah McIntyre is the Facilities Lead at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Durham. She has been with the organization for over ten years, with a unique lens due to her growth and roles over the years (reception, admin, senior for Facilities and Property Management). Sarah was awarded the Making a Difference CEO Award in 2023, recognized for her interpersonal communications amongst employees and external partners. Sarah is a wellness advocate and self-proclaimed hype-girl of CMHA Durham, as she has helped run several CMHA Durham events, where she has MCed and even coordinated a flash mob!

• Lance Nichols is the Performance Manager for the Information Technology department at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Durham. He's been with the organization for over nine years, having initially been brought in as a contractor to recover and reorganize the Information Technology department after incidents with an MSP. He is recognized within the organization for his ability to translate concepts into ideas non-technical people can relate to. When not at work wrangling computers, he can be seen out and about in his Wrangler, enjoying off-road sports.
