New features will let customers using cameras as alarm triggers get more specific about what kinds of behavior should trigger an alarm while a site is armed.

• If a person or vehicle crosses a predetermined digital line, as opposed to simply appearing anywhere in the camera’s field of view or within a “region of interest”. Note that vehicle crossing events will not be verified by monitoring agents

• If someone is continuously detected on a camera for a given period of time and appears to be loitering

Customers can also now set different verification rules and alarm responses for different days or times, all within the same site. For example, you might want to only get notified if an alarm is triggered in the early evening, but escalate to law enforcement overnight.

All features will be turned on in Command for Alarms customers beginning August 24.
