Next-generation API endpoints standardize field names and data formatting across product lines, making it easier than ever for developers to build on top of the Verkada platform.
Our first-ever thermal camera captures a 4K visible light feed and a high-resolution thermal feed simultaneously. Offered in both wide-angle and telephoto variants, the CTB63 leverages an advanced thermal imager to capture heat signatures, enabling it to reliably identify people and vehicles at longer distances, in complete darkness, and behind partial obstructions like foliage. Customizable temperature alerts and color palettes enable temperature monitoring and proactive temperature insights.

Turn Lens Distortion Correction (LDC) off or on within the camera settings menu, rather than requiring the Verkada Support team to make the change. Disabling LDC increases the camera’s field of view at the expense of a slightly distorted image.
We’re introducing new alerts that can be configured within Command:
AI-powered activity detection alerts for retail: Activity detection alerts can now be set up to detect individuals concealing items in a bag, or grabbing items and running. Together, these two alerts help retailers proactively detect shoplifting and identify relevant camera footage.
Door blocked alerts: Periodically analyze camera thumbnails to detect blocked doors. These alerts help facility managers identify obstructions that could disrupt traffic flow or slow down emergency evacuations.
Wrong-way driving alerts: Easily set up alerts to detect vehicles driving against the desired flow of traffic. These alerts make it easy to identify irregular or dangerous driving maneuvers in warehouses, logistics yards, pick-up lanes, and other locations where one-way traffic flow keeps people safe.

The CB53-E, CB53-TE, CB63-E, and CB63-TE bullet cameras can now support license plate recognition (LPR) during the day without switching to a dedicated LPR mode. This enables these models to capture license plates while supporting advanced people and vehicle analytics.
Law enforcement agencies can now require users to enter an offense type and case number before searching or accessing license plate data in Command. The incident information entered is saved directly to an organization’s audit log for maximum visibility into who accessed LPR data, when, and for what purpose.
We’ve rolled out several enhancements to our LPR zones feature, designed to make tracking more flexible, accurate, and actionable:
Front and rear plate support: Configure LPR zones to read both front and rear license plates, making it possible to use a single camera to track both entrances and exits.
Smart plate matching: Automatically combine similar license plate records to prevent duplicate entries caused by character confusion (like matching the letter “O” with the number “0”).
Public API: Extract zone metrics and individual plate records using public API endpoints, making it easy to export data and create custom reports.
Vehicle list filtering: Isolate records involving license plates of interest to quickly identify relevant data.
Assign priority levels to certain users or groups to prevent control conflicts when operating PTZ cameras. For example, ensure a GSOC operator can take control of a PTZ camera during an active incident without having to worry about on-site staff moving it away from their area of interest.
Verkada customers can choose to store their data in the United States, the European Union, or Australia. For customers prioritizing regional storage of video and image data, Verkada now additionally supports the following locations for storage:
Canada
Germany (Frankfurt)
Japan (Tokyo)
Singapore
South Korea (Seoul)
