Introducing Third-Generation Bullet Cameras: Smarter Analytics, Easier Install, and Customizable Attachments
From monitoring parking lots to protecting critical infrastructure, Verkada customers have long relied on bullet cameras for their durability, long-range zoom, and powerful analytics, including license plate recognition.
Today, we’re excited to introduce the latest iteration of this series: our third-generation bullet cameras.
Meet Our Third-Generation Bullet Cameras

The new lineup of Verkada bullet cameras includes four models, with both wide-angle and telephoto options available in 5MP and 4K, giving you the flexibility to choose the right camera for each environment.
At the core of this new generation is the latest Ambarella CV7x chip, enabling some of Verkada’s most advanced analytics, including AI-powered unified timeline and AI-powered activity detection. Like all bullet cameras, customers can choose to put the camera in either people and vehicle analytics mode or license plate recognition (LPR) mode. In LPR mode, bullet cameras are able to capture license plates on vehicles traveling up to 80mph / 128kph and across up to three lanes of traffic.
We’ve also made improvements to image quality across the lineup. New 4K models feature larger sensors, while telephoto models offer stronger optical zoom. We’ve also enhanced image processing to deliver clearer, sharper footage, especially in low-light conditions. The result is improved visibility and more usable footage when it matters most.
When it comes to installation and maintenance, we heard your feedback. The third-generation now includes several practical improvements, including:
A built-in internal heater to help prevent lens fogging in rainy or humid conditions
An optional extendable visor for added protection from glare and rain
Cleaner cabling with a cable trap and cable latch, replacing the PoE pigtail
Multiple LED indicators for easier troubleshooting
Compatibility with various existing Verkada camera mounts, plus a new dedicated pole mount
Zoom-based IR optimization to deliver clear nighttime images at a variety of distances
These changes are designed to make deployments easier while improving long-term performance in the field.
New Optional Attachments for Greater Flexibility

For the first time, our bullet cameras also support two optional attachments that let organizations tailor the deployment to their specific environment.
Infrared Illuminator
A new infrared (IR) illuminator extends nighttime visibility well beyond the camera’s standard IR range, allowing the camera to capture detail at longer distances in low-light conditions, and optimizing nighttime performance when the camera is optically zoomed in.

White Light Illuminator
A white light illuminator can illuminate the camera’s field of view, enabling full-color footage capture at night, while also helping to deter potential threats. Floodlight mode will persistently illuminate the camera’s field of view, and pulsed light mode will repeatedly flash on and off. The device can be configured to trigger anytime motion is detected or set to stay on continuously, with the ability to create custom schedules.

Both attachments securely lock onto the bottom of the camera for simple installation, and are managed in Command.
