May 2024 Product Updates

In our May release, the following products and features will become available to all Verkada customers. Updates will be released on May 23rd. 

Cameras

  • Customers can now use AI-powered search in Command to search for near-limitless attributes of people and vehicles. Learn more.

  • Customers can now selectively blur faces of individuals in archived footage to better protect the privacy of bystanders. Learn more.  

  • Shortcuts in the live feed are now also available in the history player. Learn more.

  • We’re introducing four new FIPS-validated bullet cameras: CB52-E-F, CB52-TE-F, CB62-E-F, and CB62-TE-F. Learn more.

  • We’re introducing low-latency streaming for camera feeds with WebCodecs–reducing the time between the real-world event and when the customer sees the footage in Command by roughly 50%. Learn more.

  • Customers can see license plates of interest that are linked to specific people of interest all from a single person of interest screen. Learn more.

  • We’re including several UI and filtering enhancements to our MotionX trajectory feature, like line crossing, loitering, and crowding filters to single camera views. Learn more.

  • We’re adding more granular permissioning over who in a Command organization can see, search, remove, and create persons of interest and search by an individual’s face. Learn more.

  • We’re introducing a handful of minor UI/UX improvements and bug fixes to the Alerts page. Learn more.

Command

  • Customers can manage admin settings in the Command iOS and Android apps for even quicker access to critical features on the go. Learn more.

  • After inviting a user to Command, Org Admins will see the user in an "Invited" state until they accept the invitation. Learn more.

  • Command users can now set their email preferences from the Account Settings page. Learn more.

  • We now support OIDC SSO login for customers using Okta. Learn more.

Connectivity

  • Customers can now set up alerts for tamper events, SIM failover events, and when monthly data usage exceeds a preset threshold. Learn more.

Access Control

  • Command now supports ASSA ABLOY WiFi and PoE locks from the Corbin Russwin and Sargent Aperio series. Learn more.

  • Organizations with Schlage Control series locks can now associate a context camera with their door locks. Learn more.

  • Admins can now configure tamper and wireless lock low battery alerts from Command. Learn more. 

  • The door unlock API allows organizations to query for a list of doors as well as unlock them via API endpoints. Learn more.

  • We’ve given the door page an end-to-end overhaul to improve the experience and surface the most critical information. Learn more.

  • Our new reader connectivity status functionality lets admins detect any connectivity or wiring issues from Command. Learn more.

  • Supervised wiring allows organizations to monitor the status of wire connections from controllers to REX and AUX devices. Learn more.

  • With our new managed sessions functionality, admins can now control the total number of Pass app logins. Learn more.

  • We’ve streamlined our CSV upload functionality to allow admins to create profiles in bulk more easily. Learn more.

Intercom

  • The new Global Events tab allows organizations to search, filter, and view intercom calls across devices. Learn more.

  • The TD52 now supports LPR unlock capabilities when used as a single-door controller. Learn more.

  • We’ve improved the intercom camera's people detection capabilities to better detect people in vehicles. Learn more.

  • Call transcripts are now more accurate and reliable. Learn more.

  • Three new in-call improvements help ensure consistent call performance across receivers. Learn more.

Sensors 

  • The sensor Event Analytics page now has more precise time frames and search functionality. Learn more.

  • Customers can now configure a static IP address on any sensor device. Learn more.

Workplace

  • Return visitors can expedite their check-in process by showing a QR code saved in their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

  • Guest log search allows admins to more easily search for specific visitors, as well as filter by name, date, guest type, and site.

  • Customers can now import subsites into Guest as a site.

  • Customers can add a video for visitors to watch as part of the check in flow.

  • Admins and receptionists can add notes to individual visitor profiles.

  • Improvements for admins while exporting visitor logs.

  • A single iPad can now support visitors checking into multiple departments within the facility.

  • New outpatient flow allows guests visiting outpatients, or visitors who are outpatients themselves, to visit the hospital and select the department they are visiting.

  • Helps visitors better understand how to use the front camera for ID scanning by having an image on the iPad demonstrate the scanning gesture.

  • Verkada Guest now integrates with ClassLink, a leading provider of single sign-on for schools.

  • As part of Guest’s volunteer management feature, customers can upload a CSV list of pre-approved visitors to streamline the process.

  • Guest now supports mapping multiple Guest sites to one SIS district.
