Announcing Talk Down & Door Access Support for the TD52 Video Intercom
Today we are excited to launch two new capabilities that make the TD52 an even more complete door security solution: door controller support, which allows organizations to use the TD52 as a single door controller, and talk down capabilities, which allows receivers to talk down through the TD52 at any time.
These new capabilities will become available for all new and existing TD52 devices starting today.
TD52 removes the need for another door controller
The TD52 can now function as a single door controller that allows organizations to connect their AD33 door readers to the TD52 video intercom through the RS-485 port on the back of the device.
This capability eliminates extra hardware and cabling. All new and existing TD52 video intercom devices will support single-door controller functionality.
Talk down support for the TD52
In some situations, organizations need to be able to talk down through the TD52 without first needing to receive an incoming call. Maybe someone is loitering outside the door, and you want to ask them to leave. Or perhaps a person is at the door, and they can’t push the button because their hands are full.
To support these use cases, we are announcing talk down support. With talk down support, users can initiate talk down calls to any TD52 intercom using the Verkada Desk Station, Verkada Pass, or Verkada Command. The capability supports 1:1 calling, whereby a caller can use an intercom receiver to talk down to one TD52 video intercom.
Users only need to tap the ‘call’ button from their intercom receiver and speak through the microphone to initiate a call.

Talk down and door support for the TD52 continues our commitment to bringing organizations a complete entrance security product. With three products in one, the TD52 offers a comprehensive way to protect entrances with a single hardware device.
Furthermore, access controller and talk down capabilities for our TD52 come at no additional cost. These new software upgrades are included in our existing intercom license. Like all Verkada products, our intercom system continues to improve and we are just getting started.
