Identify and Respond to Physical Altercations with Fighting Detection
At VerkadaOne 2025, we introduced AI-powered activity detection alerts that could be set up to detect two types of activity: individuals climbing over a fence, gate, or wall and individuals falling.
We are excited to announce that activity detection alerts can now be set up to identify a third category of behavior – people fighting.

Like other activity detection alerts, fighting detection uses a dedicated model to help identify violent or unwanted physical contact including punching, pushing, and wrestling. And, as a result of the advanced computing power available on our latest generation of devices, fighting detection alerts can deliver near real-time notifications to system users.
With visibility into fights as they unfold, security teams at schools, malls, and correctional facilities can respond quickly and de-escalate situations effectively. After an altercation has taken place, fighting detection alerts support the ability to easily identify and archive relevant footage to support investigations, identify involved individuals, and promote accountability.
Availability
Fighting detection alerts will be available in beta on select cameras* beginning February 19, 2026.
