Today, we’re excited to announce a series of powerful updates designed to make unified timeline even more flexible and more comprehensive – delivering true end-to-end site visibility that enables more thorough, complete investigations.
Track Sightings in Real Time with Live Mode
Unified timeline excels at answering a fundamental question in security investigations: “Where has this suspect been?” But what if an incident is actively unfolding, or a person of interest is still on premises?
You can now enter a live view from real-time camera footage, the alert inbox, or an existing unified timeline, with new sightings added automatically as cameras detect the suspect continuing to move around your property.
Driven by on-camera processing power, new detections of a person of interest populate in near real time with minimal latency, delivering key context and situational awareness to security teams without forcing operators to manually switch between camera feeds.
Easily Identify Subjects in Crowded Environments
Unified timeline is great at identifying footage where a subject is present. But if you’re leveraging the feature in a congested environment, you’re likely to encounter clips where numerous people are present within the camera’s field of view. Our new spotlight feature highlights your subject of interest when a camera feed comes into view, making it easier and more intuitive to pick out a specific person of interest within a crowded frame.
Add Access Control Events to a Unified Timeline
Access control events can now be added to a unified timeline, providing additional insights into a person of interest’s movements throughout a facility that go beyond visual sightings. Tie in specific unlock events associated with an access user or checked-in visitor, determine if someone gained unauthorized access through tailgating, or associate door held open or door forced open events with an ongoing investigation.
Identify Access Users and Signed-In Guests
When face search is enabled, organizations can now opt-in to match a subject’s face within a unified timeline to profile pictures associated with access control user profiles or signed-in visitors. This enables security teams to quickly determine if an individual is an employee or known visitor, and help identify who they are.
Gain Spatial Awareness With an Immersive Map View
Unified timeline now displays our brand new maps feature instead of a traditional floorplan, delivering immersive visual context for both historical and real-time investigations. This view makes it easy to understand which cameras a subject passed by or which doors an individual interacted with, visualizing where and how a subject moved through a facility. It also enables security teams to gain immediate context when attempting to locate an individual who is currently on site.

Availability
Live mode, spotlight functionality, access control events, and appearance to face will be available to all Command organizations within unified timeline on October 8, 2026.
