Focus on the Right Feeds with Motion Tiles

Verkada’s Viewing Station allows teams to actively monitor up to 36 cameras on a single screen - perfect for Security Operations Centres, reception areas, and other live monitoring use cases. However, with so much video to monitor, it can be challenging to focus on what really matters.

Building off of the powerful capabilities of Verkada’s VX51 Viewing station, today we’re introducing the ability to add dynamic Motion Tiles. With Motion Tiles, the Viewing Station intelligently selects video feeds that are most important and brings them into a dedicated tile. Using machine learning, this designated motion tile will switch to feeds where a significant amount of motion is detected, allowing viewers to quickly see important activity and take any necessary action.

The Motion Tiles are configured to search for activity across one or more sites, or even across an entire organization, pulling in the most relevant video feed from dozens or hundreds of cameras.

For example, as a person of interest moves through a building, Motion Tiles will continuously update to show the video feeds where the person is in frame. This allows teams across security and facilities to track suspicious activity in real-time, focusing on what’s important and identifying key footage through the noise.

In addition to Motion Tiles, today we’re also making the Viewing Station more robust with the introduction of offline streaming.

With offline mode, if internet connection is ever lost or intermittent, the Viewing Station will continue streaming from any cameras that are connected over LAN. In addition, if the Viewing Station becomes unplugged or loses power, administrators will receive an alert so they can address the situation immediately.
