How Verkada Helps Schools Meet KCSIE
Keeping Children Safe In Education (KCSIE) comes into action on 1st September 2025 across the UK. Has your school put the right systems and processes in place to achieve compliance?
KCSIE is the statutory safeguarding guidance that applies to all schools and colleges in England – including primary, secondary, independent schools, academies, and others. It sets out the legal duties these institutions must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children under 18. A core principle of KCSIE is that schools must provide students with a safe environment in which to learn. This encompasses physical security of school premises, controlled access for visitors, and monitoring of student welfare. In practice, UK schools are expected to have robust measures for site security, visitor management, and incident response as part of their safeguarding policies.
Join The DMS Group and Verkada for a timely and insightful webinar where we’ll explore how Verkada's security and monitoring solutions can help schools meet these requirements. During the session, our experts will introduce how Verkada protects over 20M+ students and education staff around the world.
During the webinar you'll discover how Verkada can help your school meet the following KCSIE requirements:
Secure campus access – Prevent unauthorised persons from entering areas with students. KCSIE expects controls on school entry points.
Visitor vetting and supervision – All visitors sign in, wear ID, and are escorted as needed. No unvetted wandering on campus.
Surveillance of student areas – Deter and detect bullying, violence or hazards. Provide a safe environment with monitoring.
Protect student well-being – Safeguard against health risks (KCSIE includes keeping children safe from drugs, self-harm, etc.).
Emergency readiness (Lockdown/Incidents) – Have plans and ability to respond to threats or critical incidents.
Safeguarding records & evidence – Document incidents and actions taken (part of safeguarding protocols).
Can't join us live? No problem—register anyway, and we’ll send you a recording of the session so you can watch it at a time that suits you.
