Bringing Additional Functionality to Command Connector Cameras with Trajectory Analysis and Audio Support
Verkada cameras are able to analyze the trajectories of people and vehicles using advanced detection models. This functionality enables many advanced AI-powered analytics like line crossing detection, loitering detection, and occupancy trends.
We are excited to announce that we will now support trajectory analysis – and associated features – on channels connected via Command Connector. As a result, deployments that include third-party cameras will now be able to provide even more security and operational insights.

Organizations leveraging Command Connector can now use line crossing and loitering detection to identify suspicious movement patterns or unwanted behavior across their facilities. For example, line crossing alerts can be configured to detect people entering a fenced-in area. Similarly, loitering alerts can identify vehicles entering and dwelling in a parking lot after hours.
Trajectory analysis also enables organizations to extract valuable operational insights from third-party cameras using occupancy trends, which display real-time and historical occupancy data for both people and vehicles. Retail organizations can use this information to optimize staffing and throughput, manage store inventory, and even integrate with their point-of-sale (POS) system to track sales conversion rates.
Trajectory analysis leverages processing power available on Command Connector. Up to 10 channels per Command Connector can support trajectory analysis.*
In addition to trajectory analysis, we will now support audio on many third-party cameras connected to Command Connector using ONVIF Profile S. As with native Verkada cameras, audio is defaulted to off. When turned on by an admin, audio support provides additional context when viewing both live and historical footage and captures events – like a verbal or physical altercation – that may take place outside of the camera’s field of view.
Availability

*Trajectories may be supported on fewer than 10 channels per Command Connector when streams are ingested via RTSP or rotated due to processing limitations. Additionally, trajectories are not supported on third-party PTZ or fisheye cameras.
