Introducing the TK74 Touchscreen Intercom

Product News
Sep 16, 2026

Since the launch of our first intercom in 2023, Verkada Intercoms have helped thousands of organizations bridge the gap between visitor experience and building security, facilitating effortless communication at the door. But as our footprint has expanded, we saw a clear need for an entry solution that could bridge high visitor traffic, complex directory navigation, and advanced credentialing without adding operational friction.

Today, we are excited to announce the TK74 Touchscreen Intercom, our most full-featured and intuitive intercom yet. By combining a vibrant touchscreen, high-definition video, versatile credential options, dynamic multi-tenant support, and robust cloud management, the TK74 brings modern, enterprise-grade security to even the most complex entryways.

Modern Unlock Experience

The TK74 carries forward all the flexible access control capabilities of our previous generation of intercoms, eliminating the need to install a standalone card reader alongside the intercom. To take it a step further, the TK74 also incorporates Face Unlock. By integrating our high-fidelity visual camera stream with built-in depth sensing, Face Unlock on the TK74 delivers sub-second, frictionless entry for enrolled users using facial recognition. Because the system uses onboard liveness detection to help guard against photo or video spoofing, users can securely unlock doors hands-free simply by walking up to the device with a credential they always have – their face – providing the ultimate blend of high-security access control and modern convenience.

For admins, managing Face Unlock is simple. Admins can easily enroll users by uploading photos in Command, leveraging APIs, or sending self-enrollment links that allow users to submit a photo directly from their phone or laptop. The TK74 also integrates seamlessly with Verkada Guest, allowing visitors to enable Face Unlock during sign-in to access approved doors, removing the hassle of provisioning physical guest badges.

Vibrant Touchscreen

At the heart of the TK74 is a bright 7” LCD touchscreen display with up to 1,000 nits of brightness, transforming the entry experience from a simple button press to an intuitive, dynamic interface that elevates every interaction at the door.

  • Two-way video calling: The TK74 introduces two-way video calling, available on Desk Station, Pass app (iOS), or Command (iOS), bringing face-to-face communication directly to the door. When a call comes in, the intercom streams high-definition video of the entryway to internal operators, front desk staff, or security personnel, giving them immediate visual context to verify visitors, inspect physical credentials, and assess the surroundings before granting access. On the outside, the TK74 displays crisp video of the answering party, giving visitors a clear visual of who they’re speaking with and creating a modern, collaborative call experience.

  • Clear call status: Beyond handling two-way video calls, the display provides clear, real-time visual prompts that guide visitors through every step of the entry process. The display updates to reflect live call states, such as “calling” or “access granted,” so guests stay informed.

  • QR codes: The screen serves as a high-visibility, illuminated scan target for visitor QR codes. By providing a clear target area directly on the display, the TK74 makes it easy for trusted guests, vendors, and delivery drivers to quickly scan their credentials and gain entry without frustrating alignment issues or delays.

  • Custom branding: Organizations can personalize the display with high-resolution company logos, custom wallpapers, and tailored welcome messages to match brand identity. Whether greeting prospective clients or directing daily foot traffic, the TK74 turns standard door hardware into an interactive, branded touchpoint.

  • Smart ambient and theme controls: To help ensure the display is easy to read without wasting power, the TK74 continuously adapts to its environment. Built-in proximity sensors wake the screen as visitors approach and return it to a low-power state when the entryway is clear. The display also automatically toggles between light and dark modes based on surrounding lighting conditions, improving readability on the screen and maintaining sharp contrast under direct sunlight and eliminating harsh glare at night.

Suitable for Multi-tenant Buildings

Combining core security, access control, and video operations, the TK74 is built to serve as a versatile entry solution for a variety of buildings, including multi-tenant environments.

  • Intuitive directories: Traditional multi-tenant entry systems often rely on low-contrast displays or static registries that quickly become outdated. The TK74 replaces this with a dynamic directory that visitors can access by scrolling through the responsive touchscreen or navigating via physical buttons, helping ensure effortless operation even if visitors are wearing gloves. Each listing highlights the tenant's unit number alongside a custom company logo, giving businesses or departments distinct branding while helping guests recognize their destination at a glance. For visitors who are unsure of the exact unit or name of the tenant they’re visiting, especially for sites with hundreds of tenants, AI-powered voice directory can assist in guiding them to the correct recipient. Tenant licenses can be purchased per site (rather than per intercom), and because tenant licenses operate independently of intercom software licenses, large organizations with dozens or even hundreds of intercoms in their deployment can share a single, unified tenant database across all of their devices. Tenant calling is available on both the TK74 and the TD63.

  • Scalable cloud management: Site management across tenants is now centralized through a new tenant management page within Command. From this page, administrators can assign programmable start and end dates to tenants, which will automatically add or remove them from directories as leases change. Tenant profiles also support sophisticated call flows, giving tenants the option to route incoming calls to different receivers depending on the time or day of the week. Any profile updates made in Command, like changing display names or logos, are instantly reflected across all intercoms configured with tenant directories.

Additional Improvements

While the TK74 introduces powerful two-way video calling, multi-tenant functionality, and Face Unlock entry, it remains true to the high-performance video security and audio experiences provided by our previous intercoms:

  • Fully-featured Verkada security camera: Powered by an onboard 5MP sensor with a 130° horizontal field of view, wide dynamic range, and IR night vision, the TK74 acts as a full security camera, capturing clear, full-focus video coverage in nearly any lighting condition. Additionally, a new CV75 system on chip supports Verkada’s latest AI–powered video analytics features, such as activity detection.

  • Powerful audio: The TK74 features an upgraded 5W, 90dB speaker and a 3-meter microphone array backed by acoustic echo cancellation and automatic gain control. This upgraded hardware delivers richer sound and greater perceived loudness across key voice frequencies, helping ensure crisp, two-way conversations even in high-noise environments. Additionally, audio recorded during calls integrates directly into Command’s live captions and live translation, allowing security teams to quickly search, review, and analyze call logs for fast investigations.
