Strengthening Trust Through Privacy: Verkada Achieves Key Certifications
Privacy is part of our product DNA. We’ve built Verkada’s platform to provide our customers with the security and functionality they need to operate safer, smarter buildings, while respecting the privacy of everyone who interacts with them.
We’ve achieved three important new certifications that underscore this commitment: Verkada is now officially certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), the UK Extension to the DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF for non-HR data. We’ve also achieved certification under ISO/IEC 27701, an internationally recognized standard for privacy information management.
These certifications represent meaningful progress in our global privacy program as we build systems and processes that respect personal data, meet regulatory expectations, and support our customers’ evolving privacy needs.
What These Certifications Mean
Data Privacy Framework (DPF): These certifications demonstrate that we meet the requirements to transfer personal data from Europe, the UK, and Switzerland to the U.S. in a way that upholds strong protections and safeguards. It provides reassurance to our customers that we’re not just saying we value privacy—we’re backing it up with independent accountability.
ISO/IEC 27701: This certification builds on our ISO 27001 and 27018 compliance and shows that we have a structured and mature privacy governance program. It covers how we manage personal data across our systems and processes, and confirms that privacy is built into how we operate—not bolted on later.
Privacy Is a Team Effort
We’ve designed our privacy program to be proactive and practical. That means that it is a shared responsibility across our entire team: from engineers building responsible AI features, to legal and compliance teams shaping global frameworks.
Achieving these certifications was a testament to strong cross-functional collaboration and a shared understanding of its importance: our customers rely on us to safeguard their data.
Looking Ahead
We will continue to strengthen our privacy program and internal initiatives, integrating privacy considerations across the entire product and engineering lifecycle. While the regulatory landscape may change and evolve to keep pace with new technology and customer expectations, our core commitment to privacy will remain the same.
