Introducing Attendance Analytics: Smarter Workplace Insights from Access Control
Understanding how and when employees access the workplace is essential for right-sizing office spaces, coordinating day-to-day operations, and ensuring teams have what they need to be productive on-site. It’s a need we hear frequently from customers across HR, Facilities, and Security departments. But up until now, turning badge data from Access Control into useful attendance insights has meant pulling raw data logs, cleaning up entries, and building reports manually.
At Verkada, we believe this should be much simpler. Today, we’re introducing Attendance Analytics: a new dashboard in Command that makes it easy to visualize workplace attendance and patterns.
With Attendance Analytics, organizations can better understand how their spaces are being used across sites, departments, and individuals—no manual work or clean up required. The dashboard helps teams make more informed decisions around space planning and in-office services, while also offering context on how teams are using the workplace.
A Unified View of Attendance
The Attendance Analytics dashboard is organized into two views. The aggregate view enables admins to identify high-level patterns, track trends over time, and compare activity across different parts of the organization. The individuals view offers a summary of each employee’s attendance—such as percent of days and weeks present and first entry times—with the ability to drill down into day-by-day records. This view supports Facilities and HR teams in resource planning, policy tracking, and employee support.
Together, these views give organizations a complete, actionable picture of how their workplaces are used.
Aggregate View
The aggregate view enables teams to spot high-level trends across the organization, whether comparing office usage across sites, identifying the most active days of the week, or monitoring changes in attendance over time. Facilities Managers can use this view to right-size office space, align shared amenities with usage patterns, understand when and at which sites people are showing up, and plan office services more effectively. HR teams can use it to track organizational adherence to hybrid work policies.
Key features include:
At-a-glance metrics: Instantly view total attendees, average daily attendance, and average attendance rate.
Customized filtering: Focus on what matters by filtering data by date range, days of week, sites, directories, access groups, users, and departments.
Flexible views: Toggle between a dynamic chart and a sortable table to explore trends visually or dive into the details.
Seamless exports: Download daily attendance totals by site and date range in one click to support custom reporting, planning, or stakeholder sharing.

Individuals View
The individuals view offers a more detailed look at employee-level attendance, helping teams understand who was on-site, how often, and when. HR teams can use this view to review attendance rates of specific employees by site or department. Facilities teams can use it to assess workspace needs, like desk assignments, and individual space utilization.
Key features include:
User-level insights: See individual summaries including percent of days and weeks attended over the selected date range.
Drill-down histories: Click into any user to view a day-by-day attendance log, complete with first badge time, site, and door.
Targeted filtering: Quickly narrow results by date range, days of week, sites, directories, access groups, users, and departments.
