Today, we are thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our access control portfolio: the AF64 Access Station Pro.
The AF64 is a powerful all-in-one solution that delivers our most sophisticated access experience yet. It combines a single-door controller, multi-technology door reader, 5.5” touchscreen, and a full-featured 5MP wide angle camera into one sleek device that requires only a PoE connection to get up and running. This combined form factor significantly simplifies installations while reducing both cost and complexity for organizations securing their entryways.

The built-in camera not only provides rich visual context and analytics, but also powers a new, state-of-the-art access method: Face Unlock. Pairing industry leading facial recognition AI with anti-spoofing technology, the AF64 provides a smart, seamless, and secure access experience.
Smart, Seamless, and Secure Entry
Face Unlock allows users to simply walk up to a door and unlock it by looking at the door reader: no need to fumble for a badge, unlock a phone, or enter a PIN. The AF64 is perfect for high-traffic entryways, modern office environments, and high-security zones, delivering a fast and seamless experience without compromising on security.
With Face Unlock, users can be authenticated in under a second. Facial recognition is paired with a cutting-edge 3D indirect time-of-flight (iToF) sensor for infrared and depth detection, deterring spoofing attempts with photos, videos, or masks.
Wide-ranging Credential Support
In addition to Face Unlock, the AF64 supports the full range of credentials accepted by Verkada’s 4th generation door readers, including low and high-frequency keycards, mobile NFC, Bluetooth Intent Unlock, and PIN codes. And for areas that may require an added layer of protection, like data centers and other high-security zones, the AF64 also supports customizable multi-factor authentication. Admins can configure combinations such as face plus badge or PIN for an added level of protection.
Simple, Scalable Enrollment
Face Unlock is fully managed in Verkada Command, with flexible options for enrolling users at scale. Admins can choose to enroll users by uploading a photo in Verkada Command or via API, or by sending a self-enrollment link to users, where they can take and submit a photo right from their phone or laptop. The AF64 also integrates seamlessly with Verkada Guest, allowing visitors to turn on Face Unlock during the sign-in process to access doors without needing a temporary badge.
Powerful Video Security
The AF64’s built-in camera captures every access event, and the native pairing of video and access data in Verkada Command provides instant context. The camera comes equipped with Verkada’s rich suite of AI-powered people and vehicle analytics, making investigations, real-time monitoring, and audits informative and intuitive.
Privacy-by-design Architecture
The AF64 is built with privacy at its core. All Face Unlock processing takes place locally on the device, with data encrypted both at rest on the device and in transit to Verkada Command. Face data on the device is stored in a non-reversible format and cannot be used to reconstruct a face. Additionally, flexible enrollment options give admins easy ways to put opt-in control directly in the hands of end-users.
Plug-and-Play Installation
The AF64 installs easily with a single PoE+ connection. Its hybrid cloud architecture eliminates the need for on-prem servers, reducing hardware, wiring, and setup complexity.
A built-in access controller further simplifies deployment by reducing the need for separate door controllers. If the door is tied to an existing access controller, the AF64 can be connected as a reader over the local network or direct wiring, like OSDP or Wiegand.
The AF64 supports a range of installation scenarios. With IP65 weather resistance and IK06 impact protection, it is well-suited across a variety of conditions. The AF64 offers multiple mounting options, including a standard surface mount, an upward-angled mount to support ADA compliance efforts, a horizontal side-angle mount for offset entryways, and a mullion mount for narrow frames.
