Verkada Command is designed to be an open platform capable of interfacing with the tools, systems, and products you use most. We’re excited to announce a series of new and improved features that give our customers more ways to integrate Command into their daily operations.
Introducing Catalyst, the Verkada MCP (in beta)
Organizations can now choose to connect Verkada Command to third-party AI platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini using Catalyst, our official MCP. Model Context Protocol (MCP) standardizes how AI platforms connect to external systems, giving agents the tools and context they need to integrate with third-party platforms. Catalyst enables teams to create custom workflows, reports, and integrations in minutes using natural language. For example, teams can simply type the below prompts into their preferred AI platform:
Confirm which warehouse shelves are empty before shipments arrive:
“Every day, analyze the most recent thumbnail on each of my warehouse floor cameras at 8am local time. Identify any shelves that are visibly empty and list the location and camera name.”
Identify potentially fraudulent transactions:
“Pull all Helix transactions from the last 30 days where the payment type is cash and the amount is greater than $150. For each flagged transaction, review the associated footage. Create a report summarizing each transaction and any patterns worth investigating.”
Audit camera cleanliness and create tickets for any issues:
“Pull the latest thumbnail from every camera in my organization. Review each image for visibility or cleanliness issues – dirt, fog, glare, obstruction, or misalignment. Build a list of cameras that need maintenance, create a ticket for each one, and assign them to the facilities manager associated with that site.”
Create a detailed foot traffic analysis report for all your stores:
“Pull occupancy trends, queue trends, and conversion trends across my sites for the last 30 days. Create a report analyzing traffic patterns and space utilization – including peak hours, average dwell time, and conversion rate by site.”
Catalyst unlocks an entirely new way for end users to interact with Verkada Command and gives teams the power to build custom workflows and integrations without code. Customers interested in testing this private beta feature should reach out to their Verkada sales representative to request access.
Improved API Endpoint Consistency
The Verkada API allows organizations to programmatically interact with the Command platform and Verkada devices. Endpoints are available across numerous product lines, allowing teams to extract data, automate tasks at scale, and integrate with third-party applications.
The new version of our API endpoints standardizes field names and data formatting across product lines. This makes it easier for developers to build on top of the Verkada platform.
Drone Integration With Skydio (in beta)
Verkada is great at protecting your sites, from the heart of facilities to distant perimeters. We’re now bringing in video from the sky with our first drone integration. We’ve partnered with Skydio to minimize response times and maximize visibility when critical alerts are triggered by security cameras.
The integration allows organizations to automatically deploy a Skydio drone anytime a specific alert is triggered in Command. Teams can view the drone footage directly in Command, and see the drone’s position across your facility on an interactive map view. The map also allows you to click into nearby Verkada cameras to pull up additional live feeds. Teams can review aerial footage within the Verkada platform while the drone is still in flight, supporting real-time investigations without interrupting live operations.
