Product Updates
The MT81 Cloud-Managed Security Trailer is now supported in AWS GovCloud. The Security Trailer Cloud License for Government starts at $529 for one year. For a full list of SKUs and pricing, please refer to the MT81 datasheet.
Users are now able to set geofence alerts for mobile deployments equipped with GC31-E outdoor cellular gateways. This is especially useful for buses and trailers, where teams can be notified if a bus goes off route or a trailer exits an approved area. To configure an alert, simply draw a polygon to define the geofenced region and set a time threshold for how long a device must remain outside the area before an alert is triggered.
Users can now remotely power cycle any device on a Verkada trailer directly from Command. As long as the trailer is online, it can temporarily shut off the relevant port on the built-in PoE switch upon receiving a power-cycle request from Command. This hard reset is often the fastest way to resolve device issues without a site visit.
The MT81 Cloud-Managed Security Trailer makes it simple to deploy and relocate Verkada security anywhere, including hard-to-wire or temporary locations such as parking lots, construction sites, large events, industrial yards, and law enforcement hot spots. Designed for rapid deployment, every MT81 is solar-powered, cloud-connected, and customizable with up to six Verkada cameras. The trailer comes in two variants: the MT81-6KWH and the MT81-13KWH, each with a different battery capacity to accommodate a range of power requirements. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Organizations with cellular gateways and cameras on transit vehicles can now find footage using GPS location. Users can view the route history of a vehicle, click on a location along it, and view all associated footage. When they do not know the vehicle that captured an event, they can also select a location of interest and see all vehicles that passed through within a certain timeframe. The GC31 and GC31-E Cellular Gateways are now supported in Command organizations on AWS GovCloud. The Cellular Gateway License for Government starts at $449 for one year, and the Cellular Gateway Data Plan License for Government starts at $999 for one year. For a full list of SKUs and pricing, please refer to the GC31 datasheet.
Our new outdoor Wi-Fi gateway makes it simple to deploy Verkada anywhere with power and Wi-Fi, including hard-to-wire locations like parking lots, fence lines, and school grounds. This allows for cost-effective perimeter deployments as organizations can avoid trenching cable and recurring costs for cellular data. Read the full announcement.
One of the benefits of the Verkada Data Plan is multi-carrier redundancy in the US with automatic failover when one network is down. We’re excited to extend this benefit to our international customers, as multi-carrier redundancy is now available in over 30 countries including the UK, Canada, Australia, and most of the EU.
US customers are now able to freely choose whether they want to use Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile via device settings page, allowing them to select the carrier they know works best for a given site. For customers that don’t want to worry about carrier selection, we have a default “Automatic” option, where we select the carrier based on a variety of factors including speed, latency, and signal strength.
The carrier selection feature will be available for US customers using the Verkada data plan beginning Nov 19th.
Customers can now configure the GC31-E’s PoE input as a LAN port, thus passing LTE data over the port. This reduces installation complexity when a PoE switch is needed to extend the amount of power or ports for connected devices, such as cameras. In particular, the switch can send power to the gateway’s PoE input while getting LTE data back for connected devices.
