The deny list in Verkada Guest has been enhanced with an improved interface that enables Command admins to easily maintain and update deny lists by enabling more streamlined adding and removing of individuals from the deny list, rather than having to reupload entire lists. Deny lists also now support facial recognition capabilities based on uploaded headshots for individuals added to the deny list, enabling organizations to identify restricted visitors even if they attempt to use a false name during check-in. For any event of interest, Guest provides real-time alerts to designated personnel to enable rapid response.

The Guest to people list integration automatically adds and removes visitors from designated people lists based on their guest type indicated during check-in. This feature enables organizations to extend the use of people list features, including smart lists and automated alerts to visitors. For example, when a visitor signs in and indicates their guest type, such as 'contractor,' they are automatically added to the corresponding ‘Contractor’ people list in Command, then removed upon sign-out to support real-time list accuracy. 

This powerful integration enables enhanced site management by allowing Command users to receive instant alerts when individuals with certain guest types are detected in restricted areas, providing sophisticated monitoring capabilities that combine guest management with advanced security surveillance.

This new incident response feature facilitates reunification of students with their guardians following an emergency. As students are accounted for and moved to designated safe areas, guardians can check in, undergoing a security screening and verification against internal deny lists to help ensure student safety.

Following successful verification, guardians can be directed to a separate staging area, maintaining physical separation from students. This separation enhances overall security while enabling the controlled reunification process to commence. Designated reunifiers—trusted school staff or certified first responders—then coordinate student-guardian pairings by following step-by-step protocols defined during setup, enabling consistent execution.  Verkada Guest is now available in the natively integrated Alerts section of Command for both web and mobile users. Users can now define alert triggers, identify recipients, and set alerting schedules for events such as a guest sign-in, a security screen match requiring validation, or if an ID needs to be manually added to the visitor’s profile. Verkada Guest now offers user-specific entry codes and QR codes to streamline and secure visitor access. These two new on-demand access capabilities can grant visitors access to designated doors during specific time frames without needing a physical access badge. We've also introduced expiration controls for individuals on an approved list.
