Helix is Verkada’s integration and video search engine, which connects third-party platforms to Verkada Command and surfaces important footage tied to external events. Now, users can create custom, proactive alerts on any third-party data, including exception-based alerts. Helix dashboards which help visualize general sales trends across an entire organization and create exception-based reports to surface anomalies.

When setting up a new AI-powered alert in Command, users will now be presented with a menu of recommended event types for their industry. After selecting an event, the user can edit the text to further customize what kind of event they will get alerted on.
Command users can now check for available updates and choose to update a camera immediately. Firmware updates can also be scheduled for specific days of the week.
The new device stats dashboard page centralizes key information about all cameras across an organization, site, or subsite. These metrics include uptime statistics and the number of cameras that are offline or in the process of updating firmware; tracking cloud backup progress and how long until these backups are completed; and view data and bandwidth usage.

Shortcuts is a navigation tool that allows Command users to instantly jump between neighboring camera feeds, enabling users to quickly track moving subjects from camera to camera. Customers using Verkada Access Control can now also add doors as a shortcut within a camera feed. By clicking on the door shortcut, users can see the current state of the door, unlock the door with a single click, view recent door events, and view live context footage – all without leaving the camera page.
Optimize channel usage in Command Connector by adjusting the resolution of third-party cameras being pulled into Command.
Organizations can now set alerts on two types of activity: individuals climbing over a fence, gate, or wall; and individuals falling. To support this new feature, our in-house team of AI and computer vision engineers has built and trained a video-based model designed to recognize specific types of activity. Rather than analyzing a single frame of footage - which is how our cameras identify a person or vehicle - this model ties multiple frames together to identify the action taking place in the camera’s field of view.

Effective August 19, 2025, admins can enable face search and other facial recognition-based technologies, such as Face Pass in Guest, for devices located in Texas.
Important: People Analytics will remain "off" by default, as it is for all customers. This update means that customers in Texas will now be able to toggle the feature “on”.
How can admins enable People Analytics? Admins in Command can enable People Analytics on individual cameras or across their organization in settings. Step-by-step instructions are available here.
We’re excited to announce new government-grade camera models: the CD43-F and CD53-F indoor domes and the CD43-E-F and CD53-E-F outdoor domes. These next-generation cameras meet the FIPS 140 encryption standard and are both TAA and FY2019 NDAA compliant.
