People of Interest can now be organized and sorted into distinct “People Lists.” Organization Admins can also grant specific users or teams viewing and management permissions on a per list basis, thereby preventing unauthorized users from viewing or editing People Lists they should not have access to. The CY53-E two-camera multisensor includes two independent 5MP image sensors within the same sturdy metal housing to offer two viewing angles from a single install point. Built for detailed monitoring at scale, the CY53-E is well-suited for entrances and exits, warehouse aisles, long corridors, or other areas requiring precise bidirectional coverage.
The CY53-E includes a CV72S Ambarella processor to support advanced analytics like AI-powered search, history player search, Occupancy Trends, line crossing, loitering, and Person of Interest (POI) alerts. While its two sensors can be positioned at a variety of angles, its feeds offer an expansive field of view, which not only captures bidirectional traffic, but also activity directly beneath the install location – minimizing potential blindspots. We’re excited to announce the next iteration of our people and vehicle search pages, with easier and more streamlined methods to locate people and vehicles of interest. Both pages include a new design that centralizes search criteria in a single search bar – improving usability and reducing investigation times.
The new people search page includes additional attribute filters to surface whether individuals were wearing certain personal protective equipment (PPE), like hardhats or safety vests. The new vehicle search page includes additional vehicle types – like bicycles and motorcycles – a freeform search bar to surface virtually any make and model, license plate search sortable by U.S. state, and a series of unique identifiers including noticeable body damage and bumper stickers. What’s more, organizations equipped with Verkada’s bullet cameras can pair this new search functionality with license plate recognition to reconstruct a map of a vehicles’ whereabouts – helping security teams pinpoint vehicles of interest across expansive areas, like multiple city blocks. We’re proud to announce that Command Connector is now officially recognized as an Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) Profile S conformant client. This designation from ONVIF, an organization that defines global standards for how IP-based physical security products communicate, serves as further evidence that Command Connector can reliably support cloud migrations of legacy devices at scale.
In addition to ONVIF Profile S conformance, Command Connector can now ingest feeds from RTSP-compatible cameras that are not ONVIF Profile S conformant – vastly expanding the number of cameras Command Connector can support. Read the full announcement.
The latest additions to our next-generation cameras, the CD43 and CD53 indoor domes and the CD43-E and CD53-E outdoor domes, all include large (1/2.8” progressive CMOS) image sensors and advanced optical lenses that optimize light intake – allowing the cameras to stay in day mode longer for more detailed face and vehicle capture. With their onboard CV7x line of Ambarella processors, these cameras offer advanced AI-powered analytics that support both real-time proactive alerting – like POI, line crossing, and loitering detections – and reduce investigation time down to seconds. Like the other next-generation cameras, the new domes also feature a seamless installation experience – crucial for large-scale deployments.
Taken together, the CD43, CD53, and recently-released CD63 provide complementary security benefits across a range of environments. With robust optical zoom, high-fidelity resolution, and advanced AI-based analytics, these cameras offer comprehensive indoor and outdoor monitoring in high-traffic scenarios. Security teams often need to pinpoint footage of individuals who traveled over an area, such as throughout a corporate or higher-ed campus, within a large facility like a mall or retail outlet, or across several city blocks. This process typically requires jumping across multiple cameras of interest, scrubbing through footage, and piecing together a series of standalone clips that might contain the subject of interest. History player search eliminates this time-consuming and manual process – providing security teams with a comprehensive overview of a subject’s whereabouts across all cameras on which they appeared.
With just a few clicks, security teams can easily understand a subject’s movements from camera to camera – improving operational efficiency and accelerating investigations. Read the full announcement.
We’re excited to introduce new FIPS-validated PTZ and fisheye camera models: the CP63-E-F and CF83-E-F, respectively. These cameras – the first of our next-generation cameras to meet the FIPS 140-2 encryption standard – support a variety of government-grade security requirements.
The CP63-E-F and CF83-E-F include advanced computer vision analytics, like crowding and person of interest (POI) detection. The CP63-E-F PTZ includes 32x optical zoom and 100 meters / 328 feet of IR range for precise nighttime monitoring of large areas like courtyards and parking lots. The CF83-E-F, on the other hand, is ideal for providing wide-angle coverage of areas like pathways, long corridors, and large interior spaces from a single install point. Together, the two cameras support a broad range of uses that necessitate detailed people and vehicle capture at distance.
In addition to meeting the FIPS 140-2 encryption standard as validated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the CP63-E-F and CF83-E-F are also TAA and FY2019 NDAA compliant.
We’re excited to announce that Command Connector customers can now enable cloud backup for their non-Verkada camera channels. All Verkada camera licenses include 30 days of free cloud backup, with options to purchase extensions to the initial 30 days. Command Connector customers can now leverage the same 30 days' free cloud backup for non-Verkada camera channels and also purchase per-channel cloud backup extensions, if desired.
Verkada continues to expand its next-generation line of cameras with the CD63 indoor and CD63-E outdoor dome cameras. The CD63 and CD63-E include large image sensors with 4K resolution, advanced optical lenses, 40 meters / 130 feet IR range – critical for sharp images in low-light conditions – and Ambarella CV72 processors for advanced analytics, like AI-powered search. These components – with their focus on image quality and real-time processing at the edge – collectively make the CD63 and CD63-E optimal for environments where detailed face and vehicle capture are critical to investigations. Consistent with this new generation, the CD63 and CD63-E cameras also offer easy installation and a ground-up industrial design, so organizations can install them quickly at scale. Verkada’s latest improvement to AI-powered search – incorporating reverse image search – analyzes photos relevant to investigations and delivers the likeliest set of matching footage from across one’s fleet. Reverse image search enables organizations to upload photos of standalone objects (e.g., a suitcase left unattended) to see who might have previously held or carried the object – a use case with wide-ranging security benefits. Organizations can also use reverse image search to upload a photo of an individual whose face might be partially visible in order to see potential matches in one’s footage.
