Verkada Guest now supports international ID scanning globally, enabling customers to scan a range of non-US passports, driver’s licenses, and national identity documents during check-in. International ID scanning will be offered in open beta for all customers.

Guest can now automatically update visitors’ departure times using camera footage. This keeps visitor logs up to date and accurately reflects when visitors were on site – even if they forget to sign themselves out.

Organizations can now run security screenings in Command orgs hosted in GovCloud.

Verkada Guest supports barcode scanning for physical student ID cards, enabling K-12 schools to automate student check-ins, check-outs, and early dismissals. Instead of manually searching for their name, students can hold the barcode on their school ID up to the iPad camera to check in. 

Visitors can now enroll in face unlock off-tablet during web check-in or event pre-registration. Quality checks ensure uploaded photos meet reader standards, while updated UI prompts guide visitors to maintain a neutral expression and remove face coverings. Once enrolled, guests can open doors with just a look.

Guest users are now able to organize, update, and cancel upcoming visitor events directly from Command, with all the same functionality available at my.verkada.com. Events can be invite-only for a specific list of guests, or open for registration to a wider audience. Authorized users can modify and cancel events organized by other hosts.

Organizations can now log and manage visiting employees across sites with dedicated Employee Guest Types. An organization can have visiting employees sign in manually where they provide their employee ID number, either typing it out or scanning the value from a barcode on a badge. Pairing Guest with Verkada Access Control, organizations can automatically check in visiting employees when they open admin-specified doors. This makes real-time headcounts and compliance reports representative of everyone on site without creating lobby bottlenecks.

The alert inbox now includes offline alerts for Guest tablets and printers. Administrators choose who gets notified, so a disconnected kiosk gets attention from the right team member before visitors start queuing.

Administrators can now build and assign organization-wide Workplace roles tailored for any user. HR personnel, volunteer coordinators, and many others can be granted specific permissions to view or modify Global Approved Lists, the Global Deny Lists, and Workplace organization settings.

Organizations can now simplify the kiosk start screen for every visitor. The new focused layout has only two buttons – sign in and sign out. Authorized users can choose between focused and classic layouts from tablet settings in Command.
