JULIO MALDONADO, MHA is a healthcare leader with more than a decade of experience advancing safety, hospitality, and equitable access within large health systems. As Director of Hospitality, Switchboard, and Language Access Services at ECU Health, Julio oversees multiple departments and leads enterprise-wide initiatives that improve patient experience, operational efficiency, and care equity.

Julio’s passion lies in creating environments where guests and patients feel genuinely welcomed and secure, and where team members are empowered to deliver exceptional care. Through the implementation of modern visitor management technology, Julio has elevated the experience for everyone entering ECU Health’s hospitals. These solutions streamline guest access, enhance patient safety, and foster a sense of security and trust among team members. KIRK DAVIS is a healthcare and enterprise cybersecurity executive with more than 30 years of experience leading information security, risk, and technology programs in highly regulated environments. He previously served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at ECU Health, where he oversaw enterprise cybersecurity strategy, HIPAA/HITECH compliance, incident response, third-party risk, clinical technology security, and network services across a 19,000-employee, 90+ location health system.

Throughout his career, Kirk has focused on aligning cybersecurity with patient care, business continuity, and organizational resilience. He has led modernization efforts across EHR, cloud, identity, and network platforms; strengthened ransomware preparedness; and elevated cybersecurity governance at the board level. Kirk holds an MBA in Information Technology from Western Governors University and maintains several industry certifications, including CISSP, C|CISO, CRISC, CISM, CGEIT, CCSP, and CDPSE.
