A visitor signs in, has their meeting, and leaves. Except the sign-out never happens. Maybe they walked out through a different door, maybe they just forgot. Multiply that by every visit your site processes in a week, and your visitor log stops being something you can trust.
Meanwhile, lobby reception and security teams naturally operate with different pieces of the puzzle. When a visitor checks in, a typed name alone doesn't always tell the whole story, and front-desk staff don't always have direct visibility into security's flagged profiles. Without real-time alignment across both teams, the check-in process moves forward before anyone has the complete picture.
While Verkada Guest and Cameras have long worked together, today we’re deepening that connection to streamline both sides of the visitor experience. By integrating Guest directly into AI-powered unified timeline, camera intelligence and visitor management now operate in complete sync, giving teams automated sign-out verification, proactive screening, and total situational visibility in a single view.
Accurate Sign-Outs, Without Relying on Visitors to Remember
Guest sites already support automatic sign-out, closing out any visit that's still open by a set time (say, 10pm). The problem is that this is not always an accurate representation of when a visitor actually left, which leaves a gap in visitor records.
With our new camera-assisted sign-out feature, Guest can now check camera footage for a visitor's last-seen time and use it to backfill a more accurate sign-out time, instead of defaulting to the automatic cutoff. The result is an occupancy log that reflects when visitors were on site – even when visitors forget to sign themselves out.
Flag Banned Individuals at Check-In With Face Screening
Verkada Video Security has long empowered security teams to manage watchlists through people lists. Today, we’re extending the power of those camera-managed lists directly to the front desk. Organizations can choose to have arriving visitors automatically screened against your security team's existing watchlists in real time, giving your lobby proactive protection before check-in is completed.
Admins can select specific lists to screen against for any guest type. If an arriving visitor's kiosk photo resembles someone on a flagged list, staff are alerted immediately, before the visitor receives a badge or steps on-site. A Command user then reviews the match, along with the flagged profile's name, photo, and notes, to decide how to proceed.
Because this runs on the same people lists your cameras already maintain, there's no separate list to build or maintain in Guest. Whatever your security team has already curated on the cameras page is what Guest checks against.
One Click for Full Context by Tapping Into the Unified Timeline Integration
When something does need a closer look, whether it's a flagged match or just an unusual visit, unified timeline pulls together everything that Guest and cameras know about that person: when they checked in, who they were there to see, and the relevant camera footage. Instead of piecing together a picture across two separate tools, users get the full story in one place.
