Keypad settings in Command

Site Admins can manage all BK22 keypad settings in Command in addition to doing so locally on the device. This streamlines management for organizations with many keypads in distributed locations.

Alerts for sensor events

Organizations can now create alerts for all alarm sensor events. This allows for multipurpose use of alarm sensors – for example, a door contact could trigger Door Held Open alerts during the day and intrusion alarms at night.

End-of-sale for BR31 and BR32 sensors in the US/Canada

On March 15th, 2026, Verkada will no longer sell the BR31 Wireless Door Sensor and BR32 Wireless Motion Sensor in the US and Canada. These sensors are being replaced by our next generation QC11 Wireless Door Sensor and QM11 Wireless Motion Sensor. The BR31 and BR32 will remain orderable for classic Alarms customers outside of the US and Canada. Learn more here.

Live camera feeds on BK22 keypads

With the ability to view live feeds directly on the BK22 alarm keypad, employees can quickly enter their key code and check exterior cameras to confirm that it’s safe to exit. Additionally, staff can use the live feeds to investigate what might be triggering certain zones before arming the site. All cameras in the alarm site, whether configured as triggers or context cameras, will be viewable on the keypad. To learn more, read the full announcement.

AI-Powered Deterrence: Redefining What Alarms Can Do

Available in beta, AI-powered deterrence leverages cameras and talk-down speakers to detect and deter unwanted behavior before an alarm is even raised. Instead of a single robotic message, you can now trigger a sequence of realistic AI-generated messages that can incorporate scene context and escalate over time if the person remains.

Furthermore, organizations can set up a continuous workflow that begins with AI-powered deterrence upon detecting a person and only raises an alarm if they don’t leave after repeated warnings. This allows organizations to deter unwanted activity in areas with expected foot traffic without getting notified every time someone passes by. To learn more, read the full announcement.

Self-Monitoring Response

Organizations with door held open, water leak, and other non-intrusion alarms can now leverage the new Self-Monitored alarm response, which has no agent involvement and no monthly alarm limit. Self-monitored alarms will directly notify contacts (via SMS, email, and automated phone call) without going through our monitoring center.

Organizations may elect to self-monitor some partitions while keeping others on an agent-monitored alarm response such as Standard or Immediate Dispatch. In this case, any self-monitored alarms will not count towards the monthly alarm limit for the site.

Arm/Disarm Reports

With arm/disarm reports, admins can review arm and disarm activity across all of their sites. This not only helps ensure that sites are protected, but also provides valuable operational insights — such as opening and closing times — to confirm that stores run on schedule, revenue isn’t missed due to late openings or early closures, and company policies are being followed.

Arm/disarm reports will be available on December 17th.

Introducing the BP32: An Alarm Panel for Small Spaces

Powered by a single PoE cable and small enough to fit discreetly in tight spaces, the BP32 wireless panel makes it easy to bring Verkada Alarms to sites like retail stores, clinics, and restaurants. The BP32 alone supports up to 160 wireless sensors, with unlimited expansion through WH52 hubs, WH32 repeaters, and BK22 keypads. And with a built-in LTE backup communicator and 30-hour backup battery, the panel is designed to stay online during network and power outages. To learn more, read the full announcement.

Next Generation Wireless Sensors

Our new generation of wireless sensors begins with the QM11 Motion Sensor, QC11 Door Contact, and QT11 Universal Transmitter. The QM11 motion sensor uses both PIR and microwave detection to reduce false triggers from heat changes without physical movement, such as sudden HVAC drafts. The QC11 door sensor enables more flexible installation with a two-sided design that works no matter which side the magnet is placed on. The QT11 universal transmitter can turn any third-party wired sensor into a wireless sensor, allowing organizations to bring a variety of sensor types into a Verkada wireless alarm system.
