Product Updates
The Command mobile app now offers expanded access control functionality. Admins can update access levels and user credentials on the fly, while security teams can trigger critical roll call reports during emergencies without fumbling with laptops. For setup and day-to-day operations, installers and admins can add doors to controllers and adjust configurations without being tethered to a desk. To learn more, read the full announcement.
The AF64 Access Station Pro is now open for early access requests. Interested customers and partners can contact their sales representative to start an extended trial, which includes both the AF64 and optional mounting accessories. This program is available for organizations located in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. To learn more, read the early access program overview.
Getting started with Verkada Pass is now faster and easier for first-time users, thanks to a smoother onboarding experience. New users will receive a simple and informative email that introduces them to the app. From here, they can log in with a single email link – no password setting or confirmation required. Lastly, we’ve refined the permissions flow to clearly communicate the value of key settings and guide users toward informed setup choices. To learn more, consult the Pass App User Set-up Guide.
We are excited to introduce four new TAA & FY2019 NDAA compliant hardware additions to our access control portfolio: the AC12-G, a one-door controller; the AC62-G, a sixteen-door controller; the AD34-G, a multi-technology reader; and the AD64-G, a multi-technology reader with a keypad. Both access controllers incorporate FIPS validated encryption, and both readers support PIV card authentication. We are also introducing a new AWS GovCloud access control software license, enabling organizations to choose whether to commission devices in AWS GovCloud or in standard AWS environments. With two-person unlock, organizations can require two people to present valid credentials at a door reader for the door to unlock. This feature is perfect for high security areas where tight oversight is paramount, like pharmacies, evidence rooms, bank vaults, research labs, server rooms, and more. Admins can manage this feature within Door Schedules or Door Exceptions Calendar under “Advanced settings”, where they can designate “Exempt groups” for users who are authorized to access the door independently, and specify “Required groups” to define which users must always be part of a two-person pair to gain entry.
Double badging to change access schedules is now supported on wireless locks from ASSA ABLOY (Aperio Series) and Schlage (AD Series, Real-Time Engage Series). This brings the same functionality available on readers to wireless locks, allowing authorized users to toggle a door’s schedule between unlocked and access controlled by presenting the same credential twice in a row. Double badge works for both users and access groups, generates events in Command, and functions even without internet connectivity.
We’re making it even easier to access the doors you use most. Building on the Favorite Doors feature in the Verkada Pass app, iOS users can now add a Favorite Doors widget directly to their home screen, enabling instant door unlocks without ever opening the app. The new widget gives you quick, one-tap access to the doors you use most frequently—right from your home screen.
Introducing Attendance Analytics, a new dashboard in Verkada Command that transforms Access Control badge data into real-time workplace insights. Built for HR, facilities, and security teams, Attendance Analytics makes it easy to understand how office spaces are used—without manual exports or complex spreadsheets. The dashboard surfaces high-level trends across sites and departments over time, helping teams plan space and services more effectively. It also offers a detailed view of individual attendance, enabling HR to track in-office frequency and support policy or team-level planning. With built-in metrics, flexible filtering options, and visual dashboards, Attendance Analytics turns raw access control data into a powerful tool for smarter, more proactive workplace decision-making. Introducing the AF64 Access Station Pro, an all-in-one device that combines a single-door controller, multi-technology reader, 5.5” touchscreen, and 5MP wide-angle camera in a sleek form factor. The built-in camera provides rich visual context and analytics while powering our latest credential: Face Unlock. With Face Unlock, users can be securely authenticated in under a second—no badge, phone, or PIN required. The AF64 also supports the full range of Verkada credentials, including keycards, fobs, mobile (NFC and Bluetooth Intent Unlock), PIN codes, and configurable multi-factor options like face plus badge or PIN. The AF64 offers flexible, scalable enrollment options, installs easily via a PoE cable, and includes multiple mounting options and accessories. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Upgrade traditional lock-and-key systems with the AL54 Wireless Lock. The AL54 is easy to set up in Command and uses Verkada’s VLink wireless protocol for connectivity. With access control for every door, organizations can take swift action in seconds, from adjusting door schedules across doors to initiating lockdowns. LED feedback on either side of the door provides clear visual confirmation of the door’s state, and a built-in latch bolt monitor coupled with a door position indicator helps organizations ensure that doors are closed, locked, and latched. For a smooth unlock experience, end-users can use a wide array of credentials, including Bluetooth Intent Unlock. The AL54 will ship with ANSI Grade 1 certification and comes in two lock types, cylindrical and mortise, to suit a variety of doors. To learn more, read the full announcement.
