The new TD33 surface mount (ACC-INT-SMB-4) simplifies installation in space-constrained environments, like crowded mullions or brick walls, where limited cavity space or structural density prevent traditional recessed mounting.
Verkada’s security relay (ACC-IOX-RELAY) streamlines intercom installations while reinforcing physical hardware security when Verkada intercoms are configured as single-door controllers. By acting as a power source, the security relay removes the need for an external power supply and reduces cabling complexity, leading to more efficient deployments. Additionally, the security relay places door lock circuitry on the secure side of the door, helping ensure that the locking mechanism remains protected even if the exterior intercom is removed. Reader over network allows Verkada intercoms to transmit credential scans to access control units via the local network, eliminating the need for a hardwired connection. This significantly reduces cabling complexity and labor costs for both new and existing installations, providing a highly scalable way to deploy integrated entry points without the physical constraints of traditional wiring. Verkada intercoms now support live translation, which provides real-time, two-way voice and text translation for intercom calls across ten languages. During a call, the intercom automatically detects language mismatches to prompt activation of the feature, and audio ducking helps ensure that the translated voice is clear while preserving the speaker’s original tone. AI-powered voice directory streamlines visitor management by using natural language processing to route calls based on spoken intent, eliminating the need for a physical receptionist or complex manual directories. The system provides a low-latency, conversational experience that intelligently handles ambiguity, and is available for the TD63 intercom. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Volume overdrive is a new hardware feature to increase intercom speaker volume beyond the normal maximum. Similar to overclocking a computer, volume overdrive pushes a speaker beyond its factory limits by boosting the amplifier’s power output, resulting in louder audio with a slight trade-off in sound quality at higher levels. With live caption, intercom calls answered using Verkada Desk Station and Pass App (iOS) are captioned in real time, allowing receivers to clearly see what callers are saying. This helps ensure that everyone can effectively respond to a call, whether they’re in a loud environment or have a hearing impairment. The beta launch will support English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, and Dutch. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Visitors can now gain entry by scanning check-in QR codes generated by Verkada Guest using the built-in camera on Verkada video intercoms. This simplifies the guest entry process by eliminating the need for extra steps at the Guest iPad. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Verkada has expanded its intercom lineup with the TS12, an audio-only solution designed for camera-restricted, vandal-prone, and noisy environments. The TS12 comes in three variations: the TS12-N features a black button for standard requests, the TS12-N-RB has a raised red button for emergencies, and the TS12-N-R2B has a black and a red button to accommodate both general assistance and emergency calls. With IP69 and IK10 ratings, the TS12 is highly resistant to harsh conditions and physical impact. Additionally, the TS12 features our highest power audio output yet, up to 95 dB SPL, and can be connected to an external speaker to reach 110 dB SPL. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Visit Key enables organizations to grant visitors temporary, call-free access to their building. In Command, admins can create a visit key for each guest by selecting which intercoms and credentials are to be used, setting a valid schedule, and deciding whether the key is single-use or reusable within that timeframe. Visitors can gain entry using web unlock links, approved license plates, PIN codes (for the TD63 intercoms), and now, QR codes. To learn more, read the full announcement.
