AI receivers allow admins to deploy customizable voice AI directly into existing call flows to handle routine questions, such as providing guidance if visitors arrive after regular business hours. AI receivers function as regular receivers, can be added to call lists and call flows, and be managed from the global receivers page. Additionally, admins can test AI receivers directly in Command and simulate live conversations with the voice agent, tweaking custom instructions based on test call results. The global receivers page in Command centralizes receiver management across all intercoms into a single dashboard where admins can review call metrics, manage receivers settings, and view all call flows assigned to each receiver. The update also introduces “here / away” status so users can temporarily mark themselves unavailable, automatically routing calls to the next receiver. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Intercoms will be viewable in the new Command maps feature. This feature simplifies daily tasks – like locating an intercom to trigger a remote unlock – and streamlines active incident response, unifying routine operations and critical security workflows.
Admins can now bundle specific intercom permissions, along with permissions outside intercom, to build and assign tailored custom roles, such as security officer, HR personnel, or temporary staff. This allows organizations to granularly scope what admins can do in Command so they have the correct role-based permissions without being overpermissioned.
Intercom call transcripts in the Events tab now automatically separate visitor and receiver speech into distinct threads, making it easier to follow the flow of conversation and identify who said what. Additionally, we are upgrading our filtering experience with a more accessible sidebar, allowing users to quickly find specific events.
We have introduced privacy controls for intercoms, allowing admins to disable continuous audio and video streaming outside of active calls to better meet regional regulatory requirements. These updates include independent toggles for video and audio streaming at the device level, along with customizable audio retention policies. To learn more, read the full announcement.
Verkada intercoms now support High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), a compression standard that enables higher-quality video streaming without requiring additional bandwidth. This delivers sharper digital zoom and increased resolution, and allows users to see details more clearly when streaming.
Verkada intercoms are officially Zoom Phone Interop-certified. This certification streamlines the deployment process and provides customers with specialized support from Zoom for better troubleshooting, and opens the door for future, more advanced integrations.
We have refined the Command web calling interface to make it more consistent and intuitive. The new interface organizes alerts, transcripts, and camera feeds to eliminate screen crowding. Additionally, the call screen now includes call statistics and layout controls, allowing users to adjust settings without navigating away from an active call.
